Emphasizing your Natural Beauty: Summer Edition

Summer is hot and humid, and most days not make up friendly. Face make up either becomes cake or oily and rubs right off. So, on the days when I want a little definition to my face there are a few products and tricks I turn to to define the face in the most natural ways.
In my opinion the most important feature on ones face when it comes to definition is eyebrows. Eyebrows shape the face which is why filling in the brows is one of the first things I do. Revlon's Color Stay Brow Tint gives a natural look while emphasizing the their natural shape. After defining the color and shape, the Lanolips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm can be used to take the brows a step further. Just simply apply a small amount onto your finger and warm up the balm between two fingers and apply to brows in upward motions. Doing this will help to achieve feathery natural looking brows.
Mascara is not always a go to in the hot summer because either the heat or water will have it out of place within minutes. I am not even a fan of waterproof mascara as I believe it is too harsh on the lashes due to the way it dries, but I still want lashes that stand out. The fad of getting lash extensions has been on the rise for years now, but either you got them and had a bad experience, do not want to spend the money, or just don't have any interest. Unless you are someone who is in love with your set of extensions and is waking up with gorgeous wispy lashes this is for you. Achieving long lashes minus the mascara or falsies is simple with this little trick. Apply Aquaphor to lashes with a finger (a healthy amount not too much but not too little) then using an eye lash curler to lengthen them creates the look of long shiny lashes. This works for me all day long, but if your lashes are stubborn it can't hurt to carry your curler with you for some touch ups throughout the day.
Enhancing the natural color and shape of the lips is another element that is easy to define in a subtle way. With the use of a nude lip pencil to define the shape and a hint of color to strengthen the lips natural color. An Ardor favorite is the Marc Jacobs Poutliner Longwear Lip Liner pencil in Nud(ist). This lip color is fairly versatile and will work with any shade you choose to enhance your lip color. YSL's Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick Balm is great to use for added moisture and color that will aid in achieving luscious lips. Our favorite color from their current selection is #87 Rose Afrique, so try it out!
For everyday looks we at Ardor want to promote make up as a tool to enhance ones natural beauty, not mask it. Although it is fun to play with make up and create outstanding looks with it, the summer heat just makes us want to show our bare skin. By defining these three points of the face it compliments ones natural features in the most simple ways. We hope you try out and fall in love with these quick tricks as much as we have.
