Why you need a dry brush in your life now more than ever...
As fall and winter approach dry brushing is a key step to add to your pre-bathing routine for the many reasons listed below. To do so take a natural stiff-bristled brush and brush dry skin in long motions toward the heart. There are two styles of brushes including one with a handle and one without. A brush with a handle is helpful for reaching difficult spots such as your back and a great bathroom decor piece when hung on the wall, while the handleless brush is best for easy storing. Many wellness practices are not backed by any clinical data, and dry brushing is no exception. However, incorporating a wellness practice such as this can be a wonderful addition to your self care routine for results such as softer more radiant skin, and the reasons listed below. Very importantly don't forget to apply lotion to the skin after bathing and especially do not continue if irritation occurs!
It increases blood circulation. A common misconception about dry brushing is that is decreases the appearance of cellulite. Unfortunately I can't guarantee that will happen, but rather it causes temporary plumping of the skin due to increased blood circulation.
It promotes lymph drainage.
It stimulates nervous system.
