As much as I love tanning on the beach, we all should know the sun is our skins enemy. Sun exposure over time can lead to early signs of aging, aka wrinkles, which we definitely want to avoid. It is important to protect your skin, but even more so in the summer when the suns UV rays are stronger than ever. The suns UV rays can lead to a multitude of skin issues down the line. Long term sun exposure and sunburn can increase the rate at which skin ages, so to prevent this, but also look tan and glowing here are some essential summer products.
The skin on our face, neck, and hands is much more sensitive than the skin on the rest of our bodies, which is why a stronger SPF is recommended for these areas. However finding a face sunscreen that does not leave a white cast, create oil build up, or lead to breakouts is tough. Through years of trial and error we stumbled across this holy grail, SkinMedica's Mineral Shield SPF 35.

The skin on our lips is also sensitive to sun exposure, therefore the sun can easily turn plump hydrated lips into dried prunes. Which is why having a reliable moisturizing lip balm in the summer is just as important as in the dry winter season. Jack Blacks Intense Therapy Lip Balm is our go to for the sunny summer months because it contains SPF 25. Unlike most lip balms with SPF that we have found do not absorb into the lips, this one seeps into the skin and effectively protects lips from sun damage. This paragon-free formula comes in 6 flavors and is enriched with antioxidants to heal lips and provide lasting moisture.

Although we want to protect our face from the harmful effects of the sun, we are not willing to compromise a glowy tan face. Adding these Isle of Paradise tanning drops to your favorite moisturizer before bed will have you waking up with a sunkissed glow, but without the suns damaging effects. It is good for all skin types and comes in three shades, light, medium, and dark, to suit all skin tones. You simply add 1-12 drops to your moisturizer, depending on how dark you want to be, and massage evenly onto your face. And DO NOT forget to wash your hands after applying!
