DON'T HIT SNOOZE

Don't hit that snooze button. We have 24 hours each day so why aren't you making the most of them? Sleep is important, but waking up earlier, even if it is just 15 or 30 minutes, can have the biggest impact on your day. Waking up earlier allows the time, even on the busiest days, for the necessary selfceare that we all need. Incorporating some of these hacks and habits into your morning routine, or formulating an entirely new one from our list, will soon have you looking forward to jumping out of bed in the morning. Starting your day off with a routine you love sets the tone for having a good day no matter where the day ends up taking you.

  1. One of my favorite additions to my morning routine is a walk around the block. Whether you have 15 minutes for a short one or an hour to walk around it gets the blood flowing and wakes you up. Being outdoors is always soothing, but even more so as the leaves transform and fall from the trees it is incredibly relaxing. We at Ardor can't think of any better way to begin the day. Take it a step further by exposing yourself to new information by listening to a podcast on your stroll, either educational or entertaining whichever you prefer.

  2. Practicing gratitude is another humbling habit I enjoy, and one I strongly encourage everyone to do. Take out a pen and paper, open the notes section of your phone, or just think up 3 things in your life you are grateful for each day. To make this even more effective try not to repeat any for at least awhile, instead take the time to really think about what you are appreciative to have in your life. Look forward to a blog post entirely dedicated to gratitude and why it is so valuable soon!!!

  3. Read a book or listen to a podcast. Either way you are taking in new knowledge; I mean we all have heard the phrase "knowledge is power." Holding real paper pages seems to have a relaxing effect, but sometimes time just doesn't allow so throw on a podcast and multitask!

  4. Fuel your body!!! Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and if you ask me its because of all of the negative effects an empty stomach can have. You don't need to consume a large meal for breakfast just something with substance.
