I am about to let you in on one of the greatest and simplest beauty hacks I have ever come across. You don't need to place a pricy order at Sephora or go to the mall and search through numerous shelves of countless products. This one simple ingredient can be found on your weekly excursion to the grocery store, and it is coconut oil. Coconut oil is a natural extract that can be used from head to toe. Let me tell you how.

  1. Hair Mask: Applying coconut oil to your hair can be used for many different purposes. First, one of my go to's, as a mask/conditioning treatment. Melt the oil in the microwave and apply it to dry air and leave on for as long as you desire, maybe even sleep in it. When you decide its time to rinse hop in the shower and wash your hair as usual, then let your hair dry to reveal hydrated locks. For you frizzy girls coconut oil may be wroth a try to tame the mane. Warm a dime size of oil between your finger tips and apply from the middle to the ends of your hair, and voila shiny silky smooth hair. Now lets talk about protecting your locks, from summer fun that is. Ever notice the damage the salt water from the ocean or especially chlorine from a pool can do on your hair? To avoid that apply coconut oil to your hair before jumping in, and a major plus is that your hair will dry free of tangles.

  2. Makeup Remover: This is my absolute favorite use of coconut oil. I came across this after concluding that any make up remover I used was just too rough on my skin and eyes. And don't even get me started on wasteful and harsh make up wipes, just boycott those babies now! When cleansing balms started to become bigger in the beauty world I realized coconut oil is the natural one ingredient version that delivers arguable better results. Lathering off your face and eye make up with coconut oil not only is effective at lifting it all away but it leaves your skin softer than ever. Another reason it is better is because for those with sensitive skin (like me) don't have to worry about any irritants.

  3. Body Moisturizer: This one may be self explanatory, but have you tried it? You don't need a fancy body moisturizer to achieve the softest most radiant skin ever. Just try a jar of coconut oil and you'll never go back.

  4. Shaving Cream: I don't know about you, but I hate buying shaving cream or worse running out. Instead substitute for coconut oil, and you will not be disappointed. The plus of using coconut oil over any ordinary shaving cream is that coconut oil is guaranteed to leave your skin hydrated and plump.

  5. Itch Relief: Bug bites? Burns? Rashes? Topical application of coconut oil can help to soothe the area.

  6. Eyelash Serum: Everyone wants long voluminous lashes, whether your go to is glue on lashes, extensions, or the good old Rodan Fields Lash Boost. But how about a cheap natural solution? Yes, coconut oil can also help your lashes are you shocked? The fatty acids within coconut oil actually promote hair growth. A little mixture of lavender and lemon and coconut oil applied to the lash line over time can lead to your dream lashes.

  7. Breath Freshener: Now this one may shock you, but yes coconut oil can in fact help your breath smell well coconut fresh? This technique/trick is known as oil pulling. To do so gargle a spoonful of oil around in the mouth for about 15 minutes. Not only does this help breathe to smell better, but it clears out germs and even whitens teeth.
