One of our favorite things here at Ardor is stumbling across new practices that promote wellness. From the second we learned about red light therapy and began trying it we have been beyond excited to share! Red light therapy is so great because there are numerous ways to incorporate it into your lifestyle and a multitude of benefits.

What is it?
Red light therapy is a therapeutic technique that brings concentrated natural light to your skin and cells. Through its concentrated wavelengths of red and near infrared light it aids the body in many ways. Many of us spend much our daily lives indoors which leads us to lack the natural light exposure we need. Red light therapy is a great way to get the benefits of natural light you're missing out on.

Why you need it...
Lowers cortisol
Promotes relaxation
Aids in preventing wrinkles
Helps diminish scars
Builds collagen
Reduces Inflammation
Natural pain relief treatment
Aids bone and tissue injuries
It creates a sexy energy
Where to begin...
One of the cheapest and our personal favorite way to benefit from red light therapy is by replacing the bulbs in your bedroom lamps with red light bulbs. These lights can be easily found on amazon, and when installed transform the room into a sanctuary space. One properly suited for winding down at the end of the day.
On the expensive but very effective end are the Joovv products. I was introduced to this company by my favorite podcast, AKA the Skinny Confidential. My recommendation is to start with the light bulbs in the bedroom then upgrade to Joovv products if/when you want to invest in red light therapy.
One of the easiest transitions to red light therapy can start with your iPhone. Apply products come with a feature that eliminated blue light therapy, but altering to red light mode makes things even more effective. To turn your phone screen into a red light: Go to settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > "auto-brightness" > select color filters > enable color filters and select red color tint by moving intensity and hue sliders until the screen turns red. Next, make it a shortcut: Settings > General > Accessibility > "Accessibility Shortcut" > "Color Filters." Once this feature is turned on and at night you want to use it (for iPhone 11 and newer) triple click the lock Botton and select "Color Filters."
